Martin completed his Bachelors of Science (Biomedical and Kinesiology) with a focus on active health and rehabilitation from Simon Fraser University in Canada, where he attained Certification in Health and Fitness Studies and Applied Human Nutrition before pursuing his Master of Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland in Australia.
Growing up in Canada, Martin has been involved in many sports including basketball, ice hockey, badminton, skiing and swimming and has suffered multiple injuries. Going through the different stages of rehabilitation sprouted his interest in the field. He began his career in Canada as a Kinesiologist specialising in exercise rehabilitation for clients recovering from whiplash, motor vehicle accidents, and work accidents. Martin was also appointed the head sports trainer for a Junior hockey team. He has also worked in a private clinic in Australia where he helped many patients achieve their goals through manual therapy, injury education, and exercise prescription. Martin has a special interest in biomechanics and he enjoys performing comprehensive clinical assessments to achieve an accurate diagnosis. He is a major advocate of active rehabilitation; hence he is always encouraging his clients to stay active!
In his spare time, Martin loves the outdoors, especially hiking (for picturesque views) in the summer and skiing in the winters (unfortunately not in Singapore). If you do not see Martin in the gym, or on the basketball courts, he’s likely being his foodie self and enjoying good food around the city!
