Joanne graduated from the University of Brighton with First Class Honours. She gained valuable clinical experience when working in both the community clinics and King’s College Hospital (London) within the National Health Service in UK. She is highly experienced in treating various soft tissue and toenail disorders that affect the feet, such as fungal nails, corns and calluses, ingrown toenails and warts.

She has had the privilege of working in multidisciplinary teams alongside vascular surgeons, endocrinologists and wound care nurses in the management of diabetic patients. She also had the opportunity to work with paediatric orthotists where she gained useful insights on treating paediatric cases using ankle foot orthoses and customised insoles.

Joanne’s area of clinical interest is podogeriatrics where she aims to promote healthy aging for the elderly and enhance their overall health and well-being. Being a Singaporean, she understands our aging population is a major concern and their health care needs has to be addressed in a holistic manner. She aims to do her part for the community by actively engaging patients and their families in providing advice for appropriate footwear, foot care and hygiene in order to prevent or manage feet issues.

Joanne enjoys trying out new hobbies in her free time, such as baking, learning a new language, or starting a new exercise regimen. She tries to have an active and healthy lifestyle, and she loves going for walks or hikes in the great outdoors. However, nothing beats having a rush of adrenaline and endorphins after a HIIT workout or a run for her!
