Sarah Sellam Balan is a Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapist who graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic in 2005. She subsequently completed her Master of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 2008.
Sarah began her physiotherapy career at Singapore General Hospital, where she treated a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports injuries, as well as post-operative conditions. She has since gained extensive clinical experience across private practices and hospitals in Singapore, Australia, and France, including three years of practice in Australia and ten years in France.
Her experience in sports physiotherapy includes providing on-field support for sporting events such as men’s rugby, touch rugby, and football. She has also previously worked with the Singapore Dance Theatre, supporting dancers with injury management and rehabilitation.
Sarah has a strong clinical interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, as well as scoliosis management across different age groups. Trained in the Schroth Method for scoliosis, she believes that patient education plays an essential role in achieving meaningful and lasting rehabilitation outcomes. She has supported many patients with scoliosis in improving their movement, function, and confidence through individualised care.
Committed to continuous professional development, Sarah actively expands her knowledge of different treatment techniques and clinical skills to provide the best possible care for her patients.
Outside of clinic, Sarah enjoys dance, adventure, and travelling. She also stays active through yoga and sports such as rock climbing and surfing.
