Amelia Stanley began her physiotherapy journey with a strong academic foundation, earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy alongside formal training in physiotherapy and performing arts medicine. She has worked as a fully registered physiotherapist across a wide range of clinical settings, including neuroscience, post-surgical rehabilitation, cardiorespiratory care, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in hospital, community, and private practice environments.
Amelia’s clinical focus lies in injury prevention and rehabilitation for dancers and performing artists. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Performing Arts Medicine and currently serves as Chairperson for Dance in Asia with the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. Her work extends beyond the clinic, having provided on-site physiotherapy support for local and international companies such as Singapore Dance Theatre, Company Wayne McGregor, and Cirque du Soleil. She has also led numerous dance rehabilitation and education workshops, supporting dancers in improving performance, resilience, and long-term physical health.
With formal training in ballet, Chinese dance, jazz, contemporary, and tap, Amelia brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her clinical practice. She continues to stay actively engaged in dance through ballet and tap classes, while exploring new movement styles. Her approach to care integrates movement analysis, education, hands-on treatment, and targeted rehabilitation strategies, tailored to the unique demands of each performer.
Amelia is certified in dry needling and is qualified to teach Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation, GYROTONIC® for Dancers, Progressing Ballet Technique, and BarreConcept. She is fluent in English and Mandarin, with basic Cantonese, allowing her to connect effectively with a diverse patient population. In addition to her clinical work, Amelia holds a Master’s in Theological Studies and has a growing interest in the intersection of theology, medicine, and ethics, which informs her thoughtful, holistic approach to patient care.
Outside the clinic, Amelia remains deeply connected to the performing arts and movement community, continually learning and refining her skills to better support dancers and active individuals in achieving longevity, strength, and confidence in movement.
