Lynn Toh graduated from La Trobe University, Melbourne, in 2010 with a Bachelor of Podiatry. During her 3rd year of study, she was offered a Podiatrist position by National University Hospital (NUH) and subsequently received their bursary award. This led to her return in Singapore to work at NUH as a Podiatrist and later, as a Senior Podiatrist for the past 6 years.
As a Senior Podiatrist, Lynn was in charge of running the Vascular Podiatry clinic, specialising in arterial wounds, venous wounds as well as diabetic foot wounds. She also provided thorough foot care for patients staying in wards. She was highly involved in limb salvage cases having worked closely with vascular and orthopaedic surgeons.. Over the years, Lynn was also invited to speak at various conferences and workshops, where she imparted her knowledge to nurses and doctors on diabetic foot assessments and footcare. Her strong interest in education led her to be a preceptor to junior podiatrists and podiatry students attached to NUH for clinical placements. She has also received similar job shadowing requests from polytechnic and junior college students with an interest in podiatry as a career.
A valuable member of the Podiatry Association of Singapore since 2011, Lynn had volunteered to do diabetic foot screening as part of World Diabetes Day, raising awareness on diabetic foot complications. She had also volunteered in the Paediatric Outreach Programme organised by the association. The programme sought to teach children good foot health practices from an early age, so as to prevent foot problems that may arise later in life.
Other than taking care of high-risk foot conditions, Lynn’s clinical interests also include sports podiatry and general foot care such as the treatment of ingrown toenails, fungal toenails, corns, calluses and warts. Besides English, Lynn is also proficient in Bahasa Melayu. This has enabled her to communicate well with Bahasa Melayu speaking patients, as well as patients from Indonesia.
Lynn finds great joy and meaning from being involved in the patient’s journey to full recovery. With her friendly nature and professional attributes, Lynn has made it her mission to go beyond the call of duty to impact and improve the quality of the patients’ lives.
Lynn practises at Kovan.
